Die Inversion des Illustrationsprozesses
Die Arbeit basiert auf einem gestalterischen Experiment, das den Illustrationsprozess umkehrt. Der Weg führt nicht vom Text zum Bild, sondern vom Bild zur Narration. Die Idee dazu entsprang der Beobachtung, dass textbasierte Bildgestaltung die Bildkonzeption stark einschränkt. Zur Bildgenerierung wurde daher die Fähigkeit des Verstandes genutzt in (Kaffee-)Klecksen Formen und Figuren zu sehen. Eine flexible Erzählstruktur erlaubte die Bilder danach zu einer sinnvollen Geschichte zu komponieren.

Diese Arbeit wurde im Nachwuchswettbewerb des Art Director's Club Deutschland mit einem goldenen ADC-Nagel praemiert. Danke!

The Inversion Of The Illustration Process

This work is a design experiment which inverts the illustration process, that is to say it leads from picture to text instead of the other way around. The idea to invert originated in the thought of detaching the visual material from the text first to evoke a richer visual language. Narration can be restricting in the image conception. So pictures were generated by using the ability of the mind to construct forms and figures from (coffee) splotches. They were formed into a plot subsequently.

This work was awarded with a golden nail at the german ADC young talent award 2011. Thanks!
